A multiple spot campaign for Days Inn I directed will hit the air shortly. It features musician Jess Penner, along with one of her popular songs “Here Comes The Sunshine”. Anybody that can survive in the music business today has my admiration, and Jess Penner has an interesting story. Although she has a strong cult following for her live shows, apparently she has been extremely commercially successful licensing music, including the track featured in this commercial. Days Inn fell in love with the song, and used it for campaigns in the past. Eventually they decided to design a campaign around Jess Penner herself and this is the result.
We shot for 3 days including a live show, (or did we just stage it... you decide) and I’m very happy about the way it came out.
