This was a 3 day shoot downtown, working with Post Modern Creative from Orange County. Dede Barbanti is the brainchild and creator of this new “hardcore” workout program. We shot a commercial campaign, web content, and the work out program itself. Good friend and producer Marcus Vadas thought I’d be a good fit for the project since they wanted much more then just a “work out video”. The idea was to stylize it, have testimonials, and shoot a commercial as well. Because of the 12 minute limits of the 5D, we shot the main program on Panasonics... and filmed the more stylized, commercial elements on the 5D.
Being more of a commercial guy, shooting anything “live” is a little different for me, but I enjoyed the experience. Dede had an amazing group of “real people” who participated in the shoot, and the fact that they all have a history together created a palpable energy on the screen.
