I love Wiredrive, and have known the guys that launched this company for a long time. As a matter of fact, partner Taylor Tyng was once my assistant editor back in my Jigsaw days. Thus, when he approached me to do a branding project for his company it was rather ironic... The student had become the teacher... or something like that. Over the course of a month, in guerilla fashion, I bopped around to several agencies, production companies, and post facilities to do on-site interviews with the help of producer Claire Lindsay . A challenging budget, I tried to use natural lighting, and take “production value” advantage of any cool spaces I could find within each facility. It was a humbling experience not to have a crew, but it was good for me!
The highlight of the project for me personally was meeting such a range of other industry professionals, and then dialoging about our wacky business. The interviews included people from Chiat Day, Bob Industries, Ring of Fire, Caviar, Deutsch, JWTwo, and many others. Overall, I’m happy with the edit, look and feel of the piece. There is a unity in the pressures, deadlines, expectations we all face... and how we do business in an atmosphere that is ever changing that I think was captured.
